HAVE YOU EVER BEHELD A CITY WHERE TEMPLES GRACE EACH CORNER? IT’S NAMED SO FOR ITS LEGACY, BUILT THROUGH ERAS—FROM PALAVAS TO CHOLAS, EACH LEAVING THEIR MARK.
WHAT MAKES KANCHIPURAM SO REMARKABLE? I’VE HEARD IT’S CALLED THE CITY OF A THOUSAND TEMPLES—WHAT IS THE LEGEND BEHIND THIS?

A grand temple complex with a central gopuram and a sacred pond, surrounded by lush greenery and devotion.

A CITY ADORNED WITH KANCHI FLOWERS, TEMPLES STAND IN EVERY NOOK, HAVENS FOR SRI VAISHNAVISM, SHAKTISM, AND SHAIVISM, EMBRACING DIVINE HARMONY.

A Stay Made for You: The city of a thousand temples, Kanchipuram, has always been South India's spiritual VIP zone. And when you roll into town, we make sure your entry is nothing short of red-carpet-worthy. The moment the clock strikes 12 and you roll up to Regency Kanchipuram by GRT Hotels, we go full traditional—think fragrant garlands, cooling welcome drinks, and smiles wide enough to match the temple towers. Toss your bags into the room, stretch those travel-weary feet, and soak in the comfort. Whether you’ve booked a cosy room or gone all-in with a suite, each one is packed with all the stuff you secretly hope hotels will have but rarely do.

No Hangry Zone: As the clock strikes 1, forget those sad snacks—we’re serving you a feast of South Indian delights, local specialities, and more! Because let’s be honest, nobody likes an empty stomach turning into a hangry monster—and forget Snickers bars, we’re talking food that fuels your adventure. And about those calories? No sweat! Just take the temple stairs. It’s basically a workout, but way more rewarding—because not only are you burning calories, you’re connecting with the gods and soaking up those spiritual vibes. Burnt calories and divine blessings? That’s a win-win, you definitely can’t say no to!

Brewed to Perfection: Catch a quick power nap because the next bell is at 4, for our famous High Tea session, lovingly called the Cult Tea here at the hotel. Trust us, it’s an experience you won’t want to miss! Traditional snacks and cookies make their grand entrance, perfectly paired with a hot brew of your choice—tea or coffee, whatever tickles your fancy. Now that your senses are fully awakened, get ready—the temple journey is about to begin!

Shrines & Legends:Your local guide will take on the role of your very own Narada Muni—singing tales and legends as you wander through the ancient temple halls. First up, you’ll visit the Ekambareswarar Temple, famous for its cosmic Shiva shrine and deeply connected to the five elements—the Pancha Bhootas. You’ll see the legendary mango tree where Parvati, Shiva’s wife, is believed to have done penance—trust us, the story unfolds in a way that’ll have you hooked and wanting more! Next, it’s off to the Kailasanathar Temple—the oldest surviving monument in Kanchipuram, built by the Pallavas. Just imagine stepping back in time as you explore this architectural gem. And finally, the grand finale of the day: the Kamakshi Amman Temple, a powerful Shakti Peetha where Kamakshi is worshipped in five divine forms. The energy here is something you’ll absolutely love!

Dinner Done Right: And that’s a wrap on day 1! You’ll now head back to the hotel, where authentic Tamil cuisine awaits, served with love and bursting with flavours that’ll have you licking your fingers and asking for more. Every dish is infused with tradition and taste, perfectly crafted to refuel your soul and ensure you’re up and energised for tomorrow’s adventures. Oh, and a little tip—maybe skip the filter coffee at the end… unless you plan on doing midnight temple rounds! But hey, if you’re one of those lucky folks who can snooze after caffeine, more power to you.

DAY 1: TRICHY ARRIVAL - TANJORE 🛕

We bring our A-game when it’s time to meet you at Trichy International Airport. Picture this: your tour guide greets you with a beaming smile, and suddenly, a chariot—yes, a Radha Sarathi—arrives to whisk you away through the enchanting city of Tirchy. (Don’t worry, we swapped the horse for a more modern ride.)

Your first stop on this divine journey is to meet none other than the Moon God, Chandran. Feel free to visit him in the morning, or even when you're feeling a bit “moody”—he’s always happy to help! Bow to him at the Chandran Temple, his humble abode, and ask for relief from the infamous Chandra Dosha. That nagging pain or suffering? He’s got you covered with a sprinkle of celestial charm.

Once you’ve slipped on your sandals (because let’s face it, we don’t want any temple trouble), it’s back in the chariot for the next leg of the journey. Hold tight as you glide toward the Aalangudi Apatsahayesvarar Temple, better known as the Guru Temple. This is the court of Jupiter, or as he’s called in the heavens, Brihaspati. Pray for wisdom, education, and the fine arts—maybe you’ll even impress Lord Indra himself with your newfound intellect.

With your thoughts well-fed, it's time to treat your appetite! Enjoy a hearty meal before heading to Suriyanar Temple, the abode of the Sun God himself. Now, this isn’t just any temple. It’s the only one in Tamil Nadu that has all 9 shrines of the Navagraha planets. Talk about a planetary all-you-can-pray buffet!

Now, for the grand finale of day 1, we’re taking you to the Sukran Temple at Kanjanoor, dedicated to Lord Sukran (Venus). If you’re struggling with love, marriage, or perhaps a little extra glow-up, Lord Sukran’s got your back. He’s said to help resolve issues in relationships, beauty, and comforts—probably the most adored deity by men, considering he's known to ensure the well-being of their wives (talk about a cosmic wingman!)

After all the divine adventures, it’s time to rest your celestial soul at Great Trails River View Resort Thanjavur by GRT Hotels, your haven for the night. Settle into the lush surroundings, breathe in the rustic air, and get ready for another heavenly day. Recharge and prepare for more divine discoveries tomorrow—we’re not done with the gods just yet!
